On Sunday we drove up to Paraparaumu for a beach walk, sunshine and some sea air. I think it must have been a year since we were up there, yet it is only about a 50 minute drive. Anyway, below you can see Kapiti Island, which is now a nature reserve, and Karl taking a stroll.
There are always interesting things to find on the beach from a fish skeleton, to branches to something that I don’t really know what it is.

There was also this tree trunk section with amazing blue, orange and red colouring, and the fun graffiti ‘wouldy’. If I could sketch, I would lov to do one of this.
There were dogs and people enjoying the beach, some were fishing, others just breathing in the sea air. A day to refresh and clear out 2025 to make room for the adventures to come in 2026.

A perfect day for a beach walk, and aren’t we all lucky to have nice things to look forward to.

Beautiful beach pictures. Yes, definitely the time to clear out 2025 and make room for 2026. Cheers.

Last time on this beach we found skulls – animal naturally! It is always different too, according to what the weather has been like and the season.

We did something very similar yesterday, but ours was much closer to home. A great way to get rid of the cobwebs. Wish I could sketch, too xx

The smell and sound of the sea always clears my mind somehow!

Nothing like a good beach walk to clear the cobwebs

It is – a lovely long beach, and on a clear day like Sunday you could even see across to the South Island.

We have also had some beach walks lately – but without the blue sky and sunshine!

Thanks for sharing Paraparaumu. I could never say the name write when I took the train ride back in 2013. It was a delightful spot. Is there still a restaurant overlooking the beach. I so enjoyed your photos. Thanks again.
