A walk on the beach

On Sunday we drove up to Paraparaumu for a beach walk, sunshine and some sea air. I think it must have been a year since we were up there, yet it is only about a 50 minute drive. Anyway, below you can see Kapiti Island, which is now a nature reserve, and Karl taking a stroll.

There are always interesting things to find on the beach from a fish skeleton, to branches to something that I don’t really know what it is.

There was also this tree trunk section with amazing blue, orange and red colouring, and the fun graffiti ‘wouldy’. If I could sketch, I would lov to do one of this.

There were dogs and people enjoying the beach, some were fishing, others just breathing in the sea air. A day to refresh and clear out 2025 to make room for the adventures to come in 2026.

  1. We did something very similar yesterday, but ours was much closer to home. A great way to get rid of the cobwebs. Wish I could sketch, too xx
