Words on Wednesday: recent reading

The month of February was a dire month for reading. I started a book I didn’t like and couldn’t finish. Thanks to some light reading in terms of Sandi Toksvig’s memoirs, I got back in the mood again. So to what I have read recently.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about Friday morning’s offshore earthquakes – a 7.1 at East Cape which was felt across the country (and which woke me up), and a 7.4 and 8.1 in the Kermadec Islands.

Words on Wednesday: in the kitchen

I mentioned on Monday that I am taking some time off work – two weeks to be exact. Being at home means more time for reading (actually have two books on the go for the first time in ages), time to do some clutter clearing (I was very pleased with the results of reorganising the herbs and spices today), doing a new jigsaw, listening to podcasts and going for walks. I’ve also been browsing cookbooks, seeking ideas and inspiration now I have a bit more time to try things out

I love reading but often find it hard to carve out the time. I walk to work, so don’t have a commute on which to read.
