Another week, another set of small pleasures, those little things that bring us joy and a smile to our faces. Autumn is here, so it is time to plan reading lists, trawl recipe books for seasonal eating ideas and look forward to the Easter break. This week’s small pleasures #233

The past week seems to have drifted by, with sunshine, rain and a little wind, heralding the last days of summer and the start of autumn. I have already seen feijoas for sale.

Words on Wednesday: in the kitchen

I mentioned on Monday that I am taking some time off work – two weeks to be exact. Being at home means more time for reading (actually have two books on the go for the first time in ages), time to do some clutter clearing (I was very pleased with the results of reorganising the herbs and spices today), doing a new jigsaw, listening to podcasts and going for walks. I’ve also been browsing cookbooks, seeking ideas and inspiration now I have a bit more time to try things out

On Saturday night, the government announced that all of New Zealand, except Auckland, is going back up to Covid-alert Level 2. Auckland is now at Level 3, after more community outbreaks in the south of the city.
