Cee’s Challenge: Week 45

It’s been a couple of weeks since I did one of Cee’s Challenges as I’ve been travelling a lot for work and haven’t had time on Tuesday evenings to write anything.  I just got back from Hamilton this evening, so here’s a quick post.

The Waikato River, Hamilton, New Zealand

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?

Sitting with good friends, laughing, drinking wine and eating good food.

What is your favourite time of day?

Morning.  I am a real morning person.  Like Carol at Wanderings of an Elusive Mind, mornings are when I am most likely to accomplish something.  I’m useless between about 2 and 4 in the afternoon.

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want have a evening with?

Oh a tough one!  Taking it is someone I don’t know, as opposed to a good friend or family member, then I would say today….the actor Bill Nighy, partly as I am reading an old Simon Brett Charles Paris detective novel and can hear his voice as Charles Paris in the radio adaptions.

Complete this sentence: Something that anyone can do that will guarantee my smile is…

Smile as opposed to laugh….then a child smiling back on the bus, a cheery greeting from the bus driver….lots of small things.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week,

Well, today I had a bit of spare time between the work I was doing and the flight home back to Wellington, so I took a walk along the Waikato River, in the lovely warm spring sunshine.  I found a lovely grassy spot, sat down, took off my socks and shoes and lay there for a few minutes.  It was a very welcome moment of peace in what has been a frantic few weeks.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

The weekend of course and no trips!  I love travelling, but could do with a bit of a break and getting back to some exercise and a normal routine for a bit.

  1. Thank you for the mention. I always feel that as much as I enjoy going places to see and do things, coming home is one of the good things about traveling.
