If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would send you a picture of the cafe where I had possibly the best cardamom bun of the trip. You smile and say that looks good! The bun itself is the featured image at the top of the post.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you that dogs are loved in this city. I have found several dog parks and lots of shops to buy them treats, and that there is even an Instagram page for our canine friends in the city. You smile and say how nice.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you about how glorious spring is here. There is lilac of all hues everywhere and chestnut trees in bloom. You say it does look lovely and I say yes spring is special here.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you I have spotted so many fun things on my daily walks such as some interesting and ornate doors (see Thursday’s post), and even a bar called The Bagpiper’s Inn. You smile.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea… I would say it feels strange to think we have been here in Stockholm for 6 weeks and that soon our time will end here this time around. I feel I have got to know the city so much better (see postcards posts here, here and here) and also enjoyed a day trip to Uppsala. Each week has offered up new small pleasures too.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I say next time we will meet in person and I will cook dinner for you. You smile and say that sounds good.

  1. I can’t believe you have been in Stockholm for 6 weeks, it seems only a couple of weeks ago that you were leaving NZ. Time is flying by. And you have caught it at its springtime best.

  2. A city that loves dogs? Sign me up. And give me a cardamom bun while you are at it. Sounds like such a delightful city and I will miss touring it with you. Finally, how I love lilacs. Do you have them in New Zealand?

    1. We have had such a good time in Stockholm, seeing people, walking about, experiencing spring – and buns.

Now you ask, I don’t remember seeing lilac in NZ. Maybe someone better informed than me can correct me.

  3. It is so nice to be able to spend several weeks in a place different from your hometown. To really get to know a new place and find your own favourite places.

  4. I think we would share that delicious cardamon bun and sigh wistfully about the beauty of the city. And I would express my delight at seeing chestnut blossoms: a new experience for me! And I’d say, come visit me again soon…

And it is lovely to in a space where pets are welcome. The Scottie in the sign looks absolutely delighted to have space to run about!
