I was in two minds whether to post today as really I have nothing new to show, and in fact everything in this post apart from one thing was pretty much in my last post. Anyway, I thought I would join in this week as we will be away for a few days from Tuesday so definitely won’t be here next week. Anyway, thanks to Jim at Garden Ruminations, for hosting Six on Saturday, whose knowledge of all things plants and gardening makes him an ideal host and move on to what can be see at the moment outside.
So I will start with the hydrangeas which are showing slight signs of coming near to the end of their flowering. We are still obviously enjoying them and they are lovely to look at when hanging out the washing!
Also in what I call our back yard, the lemon verbena and variegated sage that you have seen lots of times already. I really have nothing new to report!
The star jasmine really smells quite strongly, even up on our balcony. It is pretty and is certainly spreading at great speed from our neighbours. And yes that is a spider’s web on the plant!
The outside basil has sprouted flowers, which I have picked and put into olive oil for darker days, and I got myself another plant in the supermarket which has been doing surprisingly really well.

The Texas tarragon is flowering, and I have been picking leaves off the other plants and put into vinegar, also for darker days. I do need to freeze some too.

Both thyme plants are looking fine, and I also got a dill plant in the supermarket which at the moment is doing fine and adding joy to potato salad.
Not really very much I am afraid. but as usual, I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s beautiful gardens in other parts of the world. Hope you are all well and enjoying your gardens in whatever the season is with you.

I love basil but all of my basil plants die on me! Your plants look great. Jasmines smell heavenly.

Very cheering hydrangeas.

That Hydrangea really is stunning – a variety of colours on one plant. My Star Jasmine, planted several years ago, has barely put on any growth. I spend quite a bit of time muttering at it! It smells lovely though.

I feel we are so lucky to have that hydrangea bush. I have noticed that star jasmine is in quite a few places in the city so it must suit the climate/soil.

I love your herb garden, I can almost smell it! Are you a good cook?

Our garden is not at all beautiful at this time of the year – it’s all wet and weathered and still in its Scottish winter slumber for another wee while at least! 🙂

I’ve loved Hydrangeas ever since my visit to the Azores a few years ago. Trying to keep the one on my patio alive.

Right now, our gardens are cold and covered with leaves. Such a treat to see what’s growing in yours.

We seem to be having a late summer, but summer it is at least.

That is one very pretty hydrangea though, so keep on photographing it. It should flower for another month or so, as long as it gets enough water. And your herbs are doing well, Basil and Dill never last for me.

We have been told February is going to be hot and dry. I will believe it when I see it…..The basil this year has done far better than in previous years so it must be the new location!

I would love hot and dry! It has been raining here for months, though today we saw the sun and a blue sky at last.

Those hydrangeas are absolutely beautiful. I love the colors. We have absolutely nothing growing right now. I have been getting my gardening fix by working with my orchids. Have a wonderful fun week.
