If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea… I would tell you that I am now on holiday, almost two weeks away from the office and sitting at my desk. I’m looking forward to reading, cooking, celebrating Easter Sunday with friends and catching up with a few things around the house. Of course, the day started with rain, but we agree, such is life in autumn.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I say that I have had a bit of a lazy day. I did, however go into town and do a bit of food shopping in Commonsense Organics, and have a smoked salmon toast at Squirrel for lunch. You say that sounds good.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you I bought cavolo nero, silverbeet and rainbow chard. You say you certainly plan to get your greens and I say yes! I also bought some cheese from Over the Moon to have on Sunday, and that I couldn’t resist a little bag of figs. You say you would have done the same. I offer you one and we enjoy a couple of these special fruits.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you I bought more of the lovely candles from Small Acorns. You say what lovely colours and I say yes just right for the season.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about baking, and the lovely looking things we would like to make…but when would we eat it all? We laugh.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I say won’t you stay for dinner? It is pasta tonight with a sauce made from things in the fridge. You say, of course, yes, so we open a bottle of wine, light the candles, and settle down for a cosy evening.

So enchanting. You fold delights into every sentence, draped in a warm shawl of companionship and the rosy glow of candles. And none of it is imaginary. Thank you!

Thank you for your weekend coffee share. The salmon toast and fresh veggies that you picked up look amazing. I’m glad you invited me to stay for dinner and the candles have set such a beautiful ambience.

… and I’d be that guy who brought the wine.
I hope you like a good dry chianti.
Now, let’s chat about what other weird veggies we’ve encountered.
cheers!
