If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would be sipping tLeafTea’s Earl Grey blue flower and eating a toffee biscuit from Arobake.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea we would, of course, talk about the weather. About the wind, about the blue skies, about all the rain last night, about how typical the weather is for this time of year, changing every 5 minutes.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you that I did one thing on my to do list and that was to buy a frame for this card I bought up in the Coromandel earlier in the year, and how I was lucky to find a perfect fit first time. You agree. I tell you that I still haven’t gone back to get some cord to hang up a wall hanging, that has been sitting waiting since January. You point out there was lock down, but I say that is no longer an excuse. You laugh.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you I made lime curd last weekend, and that it is sharp and tangy and oh so good on toast and lovely with a warm croissant for breakfast. You ask to try a bit and agree. We talk about how we would love to try more preserving and pickling, and I say I want to have a go at sauerkraut.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about all the spring flowers, about the magnolia, the tulips and freesias and how lovely things are looking at the moment.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about the forest fires in the US, and remember the ones in Australia earlier this year and how the sky changed colour even here. We can only imagine how awful it must be.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about the summer, about what plans we can make, about possible travel within New Zealand. But who knows what is around the corner. Still, the Southern Hemisphere has had recored low flu cases this winter, as people have stayed at home and washed their hands.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…well, naturally you are staying for dinner. There is a nice bottle of pinot noir ready, and you say, how lovely, and we settle down for a lovely evening.

I want to come for that Earl Grey tea right now! And that lime curd looks oh so good, too. Finally, you’re right—the card looks perfect in that frame.
