If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would be sitting outside enjoying the summer weather. We would look at how well some of the plants are doing right now, especially all the nasturtiums. We would watch a blackbird sunning itself, and enjoy just sitting and chatting on a Friday afternoon.

More of the nasturtiums

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about our plans for 2020. I tell you I have two desk diaries this year, one to keep a note of appointments, theatre dates and other daily things which I bought in Kikki K, and the other gorgeous wine red one for thoughts and ideas from Emma Kate Co. You ask about my plans and goals, and I tell you some of them and ask about yours, and we laugh at how every year ‘do more exercise’ appears on our lists.

Plans!

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would, of course talk about food. I would tell you I had bought another recipe book, but defended my purchase by saying this was different as it was also about books. You just laughed and said I am always good at justifying any purchase I make. We talk about summer fruits, about all the berries and stone fruit, about the sweetcorn, aubergines and courgettes, about the abundance of good things at this time of year.

Apricots and peaches

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you that I am going back to work on Monday and how I feel it will be a shock to the system. I would tell you I have also booked an X-tend Barre class for the first time in 18 months and that I expect that to be a shock to the system as well.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you we were going out for dinner, but that you were welcome to join us for dinner over the weekend. And you said yes.

  1. I love these posts so much. I was especially taken with having two calendar books, one for appointments and one for thoughts. Great idea! Those peaches and apricots look so darned good that mouth watered as I looked at the picture. Finally, you bet I said yes, quick as can be without even thinking about it.
