It is another lovely, sunny day here in Wellington. We did a big food shop this morning, in preparation for an Easter feast tomorrow, and the house is filled with the smell of a cake baking. Meanwhile though, what is going on outside? Thanks once again to The Propagator for allowing us to share what is going on in our gardens.
First up, the long weekend should give me a chance to plant the rest of the bulbs, but given that we were out all day yesterday, have been busy today, have guests tomorrow and going to the cinema on Monday, I wonder if I will be able to find the time. Ah well, Thursday is Anzac Day, and I am also on holiday next Friday, so there will be time then.

I’ve brought the basil inside, perhaps a little late, though everything else is still fine at the moment. We don’t get frost where we are (well, I have seen it once, and this year could be another year of course), but it does get chilly at night.

The random nasturtium seeds I planted are popping up, including this one. I’ll need to move it somewhere a bit bigger.

I love the shapes of these branches, twisted round one of the posts round the side of the house. Nature is taking over….

Here is our outdoor succulent, which could do with a bit of a weed and TLC. Another mini project.

And to finish, another tree and sky picture….

The featured image at the top of the post is of a New Zealand flax plant beside Paraparaumu beach. It looked stunning against the blue skies.
You can find Thistles and Kiwis on Facebook, and also on Instagram@thistleandkiwis. As for Twitter….am totally inactive these days. If you want to get in touch, email me on thistlesandkiwis@gmail.com
Good luck on getting your bulbs planted. I always end up doing a load in a rush as leave it too late and carry on buying discount bulbs until late in Autumn.

I like the twisted beaches pic. It is surprising how quickly nature takes over. Can’t beat the smell of a cake baking. Lovely!

And by beaches I obviously meant branches! Bloomin’ autocorrect.

Pretty twisted branches .. what are they?
You bring your basil home while I do the opposite here …

I’m not sure what/where the branches come from. I need to investigate.

I can’t wait until autumn so I can plant my spring bulbs. Lovely picture of the intertwined branches as well.

Am sitting here on the patio enjoying tulips and daffs, and there you are just planting them. Come on, keep up! We shall enjoy yours when they appear.
