This week’s small pleasures #128

So here we are again for a round up of this week’s small pleasures. We were away for the weekend over in the Wairarapa, as you may have seen in the last post, which was of course a small pleasure in itself.

First up, some of the things in this week’s shopping basket – more sweet corn (so good right now), more nectarines, tomatoes, courgettes, green beans and sausages from the butcher in Greytown. I also picked up some local olive oil from Leafy Ridge.

It was also time to think about teas for autumn…or rather I felt like going tea shopping and kept in mind the new season. I selected a green tea with feijoa (the season is just about to start for that fruit) and a Turkish apple fruit tisane which looked just the thing for damp autumn day.

Teas for autumn

Taking advice from my gardening blogger friends, I left my cyclamen plant well alone, as it grew big leaves and no flowers. I have been rewarded by the first flower and the signs of more to come.

Finally, it was rather grey on Sunday afternoon when we got home, so I made myself some tea, lit a candle and curled up on the sofa with Barbara Pym’s Crampton Hodnet.

I think that is it for this week…what were your small pleasures?

Thanks to Mani over at A New Life Wandering for the original idea.
