If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would chat about life, about Charlie how seems to have taken to wandering a lot these days, about the strange weather and of course, Christmas plans. We would also talk about the flower meadow on Glenmore Lawn in the Botanic Gardens and how now it is more established, we do like it after all, watching the different wild flowers bloom.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about flowers, about how I am enjoying slowly building up a potted herb garden, and about how we think 2019 could be a year to really improve our gardening knowledge. We would talk about what else we would like to learn more about next year, and I said I still want to have a go at more preserving and try some fermenting, and you say, good luck with that, you are going to stick to knitting.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you that at lunch time I went to hear Pip Adams talking to Anne Kennedy about the latter’s new novel The Ice Shelf, about how I got a signed copy, and about what a lovely interlude to the day this was. I would tell you I’m really looking forward to reading it, having loved her last book, The Last Days of the National Costume.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would ask you to just join us for dinner. There will be some red cabbage coleslaw (red cabbage, carrots, mayo, sultanas, sunflower seeds) on the table at least.
