Actually, today, 4th December, is my Name Day. If you live in a country that celebrates Name Days (eg Poland and Sweden), then you will know what at I am talking about. If not, then your name day is the day that is associated with your name, as originally found in the calendar of saints’ days. The 4th December is St Barbara’s Day, so my Name Day.
Anyway, my small pleasures this week are not at all Christmas-y. It really doesn’t feel like Christmas at all, though I guess once the tree goes up and our Swedish food order arrives, we will begin to get in the Christmas spirit. Or maybe it is just because I am still not completely used to Christmas in summer! In the meantime, here are some pleasures of the week.
Cats
Charlie is not that keen on the sticky weather we have been having, but that didn’t stop him having a stand off with Bodie from next door. It was quite funny to watch them, especially when Charlie jumped out from under one of our outdoor chairs and chased poor Bodie away.

Roses
I’ve put up lots of pictures already on Instagram and Facebook as well as in the blog, but really, there are so many beautiful roses blooming right now. If you live in Wellington or happen to be visiting, make sure you get along to the Lady Norwood Rose Garden right now.

Raspberries and blueberries

The weather
What’s not to like about skies like these? And it seems we are promised picnic weather for Christmas – fingers crossed!
It also appears that my brother has shown signs of improvement, so let’s hope that continues. That is the best news.
Thanks to Mani over at A New Life Wandering for the original idea. Also check out It’s All Over The Place for 10 things to be happy and positive about.
