It is the first day of June, the Queen’s Birthday holiday here in New Zealand (complete with a 21 gun salute at noon) and also the start of winter.

Here in the Southern Hemisphere we are transitioning from winter to spring. None of that ‘going back to school’ or end of summer here, but a joy that the days are getting longer and a sense that it is time to make plans.

Here we are again, Monday evening, and a time for a round up of this week’s small pleasures. I missed The Propagator’s Six on Saturday this week as we were away for the weekend, but could not resist heading up this post with a photo of another of the miniature daffodils that have flowered and make our terrace look like spring.
