If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea… we would be actually sitting outside in the late afternoon sunshine. You say how different the weather was from this morning, when it would be more likely we would be indoors with tea and biscuits. I say I know – what a change.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you that it was sad that I had the last Pilates class in the studio I had been going to since we moved to New Zealand (although at different locations). It is closing, and moving to a hard to get to location for me, but will try it out and also look for another class. You say good luck!
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you that I treated myself to a new navy sweatshirt and the latest Julia Busuttil Nishimura book. You say nice – do you you need another cook book? And I say no…but does that matter? And you say no! I say I also picked up some of the ginger infused honey at the market last week, which I had been looking for for a while.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about what we had been reading, watching (Slow Horses, lots of crime dramas, Sense and Sensibility) and listening to (Milk Street, audiobooks). I say this is what I have been reading recently but now need something to really get in to. You say you know the feeling.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would say I had been up in Auckland this week for work, and that the flight home on Thursday had amazing views as we came into land in Wellington. You say oh yes that looks quite wonderful with the view of the windfarm.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about how quite a few people have stopped blogging recently. You say some have moved to Substack, and I say yes but that platform is really not good for images, and you agree. I say there is definitely some AI generated content, and not only not very good illustrations, but some text too, and you also agree. But we will keep going as we need to keep human creativity alive!
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…you would ask me if I have spotted any more bees. I say yes, one more, at the top of the cable car.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would ask you to stay for dinner. I say that I have been eating junk for a couple of days so really need salad and to use up some things from the fridge. There is a roasted squash salad with sage (from the garden, a rocket and carrot salad with sesame seeds, a courgette and burrata salad, and I have also cooked some lamb steaks. You say that sounds excellent, so I open a bottle of wine and we sit down for the evening and more conversations.

So nice to spend teatime with you. Your dinner menu looks delicious, especially the roasted squash salad. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for ginger-infused honey – that sounds really good!

Thank you! The honey is very good and I haven’t been able to find it for ages so it was good to see it again.
