If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would decide right from the outset that we would not discuss the news, not even Dolly Parton or the King of Norway.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would be sipping Earl Grey Blue Flower and nibbling on an Afghan biscuit from our local deli (as you can see in the featured image at the top of the post).
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would show you pictures of the beautiful sunrise on Tuesday. You say the colours are stunning, but how was the weather since a red sky in the morning is a shepherd’s warning? You smile and say it was OK.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you that my Pilates teacher is going to be teaching from her home instead of the studio and that it will be very difficult for me to get there since I don’t drive. You say that is a bit annoying but there must be a solution. I agree.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about August, about Wellington on a Plate and all the excellent food we ate this month. There were burgers, a dinner, a wine tasting and dinner and we also ate well up in Napier. You say it does sound good.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about what we have been reading (mixed), listening to and watching. You ask what we have enjoyed recently and I say we have been watching the Danish series Follow the Money on Neon which is good. Masterchef Australia and the Swedish drama Blood Sacrifice on Netflix. You say those dramas sound good.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would ask you if you would like to stay for dinner. I’m making toad in the hole. You say oh yes that does sound good…so we settle down to comfort food, a glass of wine, and more conversation.

Unfortunately we are not having a coffee or even a cup of tea but I love the look of your sunrise and that particular Moomin mug. . . also the last two dishes you have enjoyed . . . Was not aware you do not drive . . . do hope you find a way to do your Pilates. For myself, have turned night into day again, following the Vuelta in Spain for three whole weeks – amazing how much of nature and culture one can learn from helicopter and motorcycle cameramen . . . but noting down your reading . . .
