Six on Saturday 30.08.25

I haven’t done a Six on Saturday post since the middle of July, but with winter ending and spring very much in evidence, I thought I would show you how some of my bulbs are doing.

Anyway, thanks to Jim at Garden Ruminations, for hosting Six on Saturday, whose knowledge of all things plants and gardening makes him an ideal host.

  1. It’s lovely to see the bulbs starting to bloom, a reminder that they be here too in six months or so. Saying that, I noticed that my hyancinths (outdoors, in a pot, in shade) are sending up shoots – far too early!

  2. How lovely! A spring garden 🙂 It is so smart to have bulbs in pots. I’ve often thought that I should try that, but I never actually done it.

        1. I decided against planting flower bulbs this fall due to the large amount of voles that are messing up the garden.

  3. Oh, fun! It’s always wonderful to compare notes with gardeners in New Zealand and Australia. We’ve had an early cool-down in my part of the Midwestern U.S., but actually the weather is near perfect currently. Light winds, partly cloudy skies, high temps in the range of 20-25C. No complaints. Your blooms are beautiful! Enjoy the transition to spring!

  4. One of the best things about Six on Saturday is getting Spring twice a year! Also, your blue water homepage image makes me feel instantly relaxed!
