If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would offer you a sour dough crumpet from with some home made lemon curd. You say the curd is delicious and I say thank you, it was made with lemons from a colleague’s tree.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about all the wonderful food we have eaten this month, whether it was burgers on Wellington on a Plate or the wine and food tasting event at Noble Rot. You say oh yes, and didn’t you say Jano Bistro made the best burger? And I say yes.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would, of course, talk about the weather, about the changeable days, from storms to sunshine. You say ah yes….spring is the windy season and probably the one with the worst weather. I agree.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about about all the flowers popping up all over and how lovely it is.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about books we had read recently, things we had watched and what we had been cooking.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would ask if you would like to stay for dinner and settle down to watch The Thursday Murder Club? And you say oh yes please! So I make some linguine with smoked fish (warehou to be precise), and a roast broccoli salad on the side. We open a bottle of wine and settle down for a cosy evening.

This is a delightful time to be having tea with you: crumpets and lemon curd! Nothing beats home-made lemon curd.

The lemon curd is very good – so happy the way it turned out.

I finished the last of the lemon curd my granddaughter made me by spreading it on freshly baked scones this morning … so much better than the bought variety!

Oh lovely! I put a spoon into Greek yoghurt this morning for breakfast – that was good.

Those flowers are lovely! I can’t wait to start watching The Thursday Murder Club. I do wish I remembered more details from the book though… That meal looks delicious!

I love seeing the colours of spring. I feel I need to re-read the book now. My dinner turned out well too.

As it happens, it is lunchtime here – Roast Tomato Soup, some fruit and now coffee and amaretti biscuits with The Thursday Murder Club. Well, it is raining outside so no chance of gardening so we have settled down for the afternoon.

Interesting to read how spring has the worst weather. For us, that would be winter, even though I love it.
Across the world, in Maine, I, too, will be watching The Thursday Club. Both looking b forward tonit and feeling apprehensive. Will they get it right? Plus, wish it were a series.

I know what you mean Laurie! The books were so good, I hope it will be as well done as the casting suggests.

I’m so interested to know what people thing about The Thursday Murder Club. The cast works well, and of course with any adaptation there are bits omitted, but Richard Osman was involved at least.

Wrote my thoughts elsewhere. All in all, can’t wait for the next!

We watched it today, and the casting really was great, except I thought the way the police inspector Hudson was a little more inept than how the book read. They had to condense the very complicated plot into two hours, so a few things were changed, but all in all a good job and I hope they do more because I’ve enjoyed the series.

Pretty much my thoughts too – it is a lot to condense and I think over all it worked.

Did I read on Instagram that you made your crumpets as well as your lemon curd? I’ve only ever made crumpets once and it was so time consuming I never bothered again. I’m looking forward to seeing the Thursday Murder Club too. I really enjoyed all the books.

I bought the crumpets but made the curd – the latter isn’t too difficult.

I never had a crumpet in my life, so yes, I’d definitely try one.
Beautiful flower pictures!

I don’t think I ever had sourdough crumpets, I’d love to try that. I so love sourdough bread, so this is exciting!
