After a glorious, sunny holiday weekend, the heavens opened, and as I type on this Wednesday evening, the rain is pouring down, and we have in place an orange heavy rain warning for the region. However, it does at least look dry for tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed.
The day started out fine-ish at least, which was good as I had an early morning visit to the osteopath, before purchasing a pair of needed jeans, enjoying a cup of tea, bumping into two people I know in the café, and going to Pilates. I am so pleased I can do almost everything again…or gradually getting there. At least my core and arms have remained good and reasonably strong. I don’t know what I would be like if I hadn’t had these classes while my foot has been healing.
I popped into Unity Books on the way to meet a friend for lunch (books will be reviewed when read, meanwhile they have been added to the TBR pile beside the bed), then headed home just getting caught in the start of the rain between the bus stop and home.

It most definitely is an evening for putting on the heat pump and enjoying some hearty soup, made with Polish sausage from local producer, The Polish Sausage Company, canellini beans, tomatoes, carrots, a parsnip, cavolo nero and that special essential, a parmesan rind.

We’ve finished Department Q, so it will be the last part of Code of Silence after an episode of Masterchef Australia tonight. Time to stay indoors and keep cosy!

Your soup looks delicious … I bought two books from the charity shop today after completing my stint there – I cannot resist the temptation!

At least you are not going to be washed down the hillside these days.

Hi Barbara the Polish sausage soup looks delicious and warming. My daughter is currently watching Department Q and we just finished Code of Silence. I’m still working out if I enjoyed it or not. Thanks for joining in to Wednesdays Words and Whimsy and supporting Min’s link up. Have a great week! Sue L #TeamWWWhimsy xx

I liked the idea of Code of Silence. The soup was a perfect antidote to the weather.

There is a whole series of books so a series 2 seems likely.

I hope the rain stopped quickly for you (I kept my fingers crossed for you).
And that soup looks absolutely amazing — a perfect cure for cold, wet weather! ❤

The weather was much better today – cold but dry and almost sunny. The soup was just the thing!

How I wish we could move rain around to where it is needed. I’m so glad your foot is doing well with the rehabilitation. Bernie

It would be nice to do that with rain! Thanks Bernie – my foot is so much better.

It’s so good to see you getting out and about again more like you normally do Barbara! You are a perfect example of how core strength is important at any age. Lovely post for Min’s #wwwhimsy.

Looks like a cosy indoors type of day. Rain just started here, so an indoors weekend for us as well. 🌸
