If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would be enjoying one of the Anzac biscuits I made on Thursday. We agree they are such a good biscuit to dunk in tea.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about how nice it has been to have a week off from work and have time to rest, read, relax and reset. You say yes it has been good.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about all the little fungi that are popping up in the garden. You smile and I say I have bulbs to plant and need to attend to the now giant rosemary as well. I say my foot is probably well enough to do a little gardening now, and you say good.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would say that the highlight of my month is not having to wear the moon boot any more. Now of course there are weeks and weeks of rehab to go, but every day my foot feels a little better. You say good – don’t over do it!
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about forthcoming plans such as the ballet, a fabulous sounding dinner hosted by chef Peter Gordon at Floriditas, the French Film Festival and contemplating a trip over the Tasman.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would ask you if you would like to stay for dinner? There is salmon tonight, the za’atar salmon with tahini to be exact from Ottolenghi Test Kitchen, with rice and a roasted courgette (zucchini) and capsicum salad. You say that sounds good, so I get into the kitchen and we settle down for an evening of food, wine and conversation.

I love all of the little gems in this post, Barbara. A relaxing week off of work, Anzac biscuits, little delights popping up in your garden, and forthcoming ballet and film festival. That all sounds absolutely perfect to me!

Thank you! I sort of felt I should have done more with my week off, but actually I needed the rest.

So many things to look forward to! And all without your boot. Rejoice, rejoice! And don’t overdo.

I did walk a bit too much on Wednesday, but I learned my lesson! Yes a lot of nice things to look forward to at the moment.

This is such a lovely and thoughtful series. Maybe one day we’ll visit NZ again and we could have a cup of coffee or tea together. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I enjoyed a week at home and gosh how that helps reset your mind and body. I’d also say be gentle on that foot and yes I would stay for salmon! Looks delicious

I am being good and doing my physio prescribed exercises but it is so tempting to go for a long walk when the sun is shining…sitting in the garden is a better option right now. The salmon cooked like this is good.

Take the rehab on the foot carefully. I know I am probably teaching granny to suck eggs, but you don’t want to set yourself back by feeling too confident.

I do need to take it slowly – you are so right.

Hello Barbara, I made some Anzac Biscuits this year using the recipe from Jo Tracey. They were rustic but delicious. My daughter is taking me to the Theatre next week to see ‘The Dictionary of Lost Words’ which I’m looking forward to. Enjoy your May and all that is coming up in your diary. Thanks for sharing with us at #WBOYC? Sue L x

I use the classic Kiwi Edmond’s cook book for my Anzac Biscuits. Enjoy the theatre! Have a fantastic week.

The Anzac cookies remind me of an oatmeal cookie that my mama used to make. A week off sounds so wonderful.

The story behind the Anzac biscuits was that they were made for the Australian and New Zealand troops during the First World War. That is the story at least!

Yay to the no moon boot! I think I’ve lost my giant rosemary in all the rain while we were away. It’s really outgrown its pot in any case. I’ve chopped it back and let’s see what happens. That’s a big yum to the salmon.

Yes I am so glad to loose that boot! Your rosemary may bounce back. That salmon is a good recipe.
