It has been ages since I did a SoS post – in fact it was 14 December last year. What with dreadful weather at the start of January, a cataract operation which meant I could not bend down or was allowed to do any gardening for three weeks, and then, as regular readers will know, I fractured the fifth metatarsal on my left foot and have been in a moon boot for weeks. However, with some lovely sunny autumn weather and some great help with our little garden space, things are looking well enough for a SoS post.
First up, I now have a little bed set up for some herbs – many thanks to the young woman who set it all up for me. Once I get the boot off, I can get out and make sure it stays looking so good!

Other herbs are doing fine such as my supermarket parsleys that are doing fine, and the variegated sage seems happy in its new home.

The pineapple sage has been replanted into a bigger pot, as has the chocolate mint.

The rosemary has gone amok….with roots bursting out of the bottom of the pot and the plant establishing itself where it shouldn’t be (thanks to my inattention in the garden) and needs to be found a new place. It is standing here for a photograph.

In January, I bought a couple of pots of little dahlias that have given a nice display. They are really finished now, but here you go.

And finally, our lovely hebe, which is looking good and doing well.
Not sure when I will be back, but have a box of bulbs to plant out, so you may see me around once our spring arrives.
Anyway, thanks to Jim at Garden Ruminations, for hosting Six on Saturday, whose knowledge of all things plants and gardening makes him an ideal host.

The dahlias look very cheerful! My garden has been sadly neglected by me too … I need to make more of an effort, albeit a little bit at a time. Getting some new herb seedlings would make a good start!

A new bunch of herbs sounds like a good idea. I am hoping that once my boot goes, I can get back in the garden.

A lovely comeback to the Six meme . Will you be keeping your dahlia tubers for next season? That Hebe has very pretty colour .

Yes I will keep the dahlias and see what happens. The hebe is pretty.

The hebe looks wonderfully healthy. There is a trough of rosemary growing wild, not far from us, and it’s turned into a hedge with all the rain. Quite bizarre! Happy weekend xx

Hebes seem to do well where we are. Rosemary can spread. Hope you are having a good weekend too!

We’ve had much the same forecast – so cold on Easter Sunday.

I enjoy having the herbs I must admit.

It is surprising how quickly rosemary grows. Your herb bed looks good. Roll on the time when you can be released from your moonboot.

Yes rosemary does seem quick to grow. Off to the hospital on Wednesday so fingers crossed!

Lovely to see you among the sixers again. That is a lovely hebe. They grow very well here too. As does rosemary. My other herbs on the other hand have pretty much run out of steam, so I need to go find some new plants and start the herb garden anew.

Nice that you had some help! Your fall garden looks nice and tidy and ready for the winter. How do you pronounce Hebe? I just read a book where one of the characters had that name.

The help was so good to have. Hebe is just Heebee.

Thanks for letting me know. Here, we might pronounce it as Hebe with the first e being long, and the second e being silent,

Welcome back. I really must look out for a chocolate mint this summer.
