If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about th recent trip to Perth, about how it is such a great city, about how we would like to visit again, even though it is so far away. I say there was a lot to see and we only touched a fraction of it. You can read all about it on these three Postcard posts here, here and here.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea I would tell you that for dinner on Monday when we were in Perth I booked Balthazar, based on a random search on Google. We were not disappointd. I opted for the wagyu beef tartare served with crème fraiche and potato crisps to start, while Karl had the duck parfait accompanied by Pedro Ximenez sherry infused prunes and ‘charred bread’ (or toast as you and I might call it). For mains, I had the delicious kangaroo with goats curd, blueberries and macadamia nuts and Karl the beef fillet, potato puree and spinach. We shared a mixed leaf salad. You say that does sound good.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about how busy the past month has been. I saw the excellent film Conclave, went to see an interview with the author Megan Dunn and an evening with Stephen Fry and spoke to a doctor about a cataract operation (scheduled for January). I had work trips to Hamilton and Auckland and Karl a brief trip to Shanghai. You said you need another holiday and I say yes.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about the hikoi and about how impressive it was. You say fingers crossed for the next stage and I agree.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would say that the flowers by the bus stop bring a smile to my face and you say I am not surprised.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would say we better leave as I have booked us all a special meal out tonight. And you say – oh yes I have been looking forward to that…so we head out for a good evening of food, wine and more conversation.

That meal at Balthazar looks lovely. It’s such a ity Perth is so far away from everything – but that, I suppose, is also part of its charm.

Hi Barbara, I must catch up on your postcards from Perth posts. I’ve never visited but it is on my list as it looks like a pretty city. I can’t believe November is over and I’m sure the next few weeks will fly. Thank you as always for sharing #WBOYC? over a coffee. I look forward to you joining us next month to recap the year. Take care, Sue L xx

Yes we really liked Perth though it is quite a distance away (and a 5 hour time difference for us). I would go back again. I’m like you – can it really be the end of November? Tomorrow is the first Sunday in Advent too. I have already been thinking about my ‘book of the year’ for our end of year book club…..thanks for stopping by x

Lovely Barbara! If we were sitting have a chat i would tell you I’ve not had any cups of tea in over a week, and you’d go ‘WOW that’s incredible given you usually have 6 at least in a day’!!
Thanks for joining us for #WBOYC with your charming post.

I too liked that mug. It would make any coffee in it taste a bit better.
