This week’s small pleasures #415

I’m actually in Perth, Western Australia as I finish this post. We flew out here on Saturday via Melbourne. There is a five hour time difference, so we are adjusting still a bit. On Sunday, an old friend from school in Scotland who moved here a number of years ago, took us out and about, and I’ll feature that in a separate post (or two). Just being here in the sun and warmth and a new city to explore is a huge small pleasure. The featured image at the top of the post is of the sunset in Wellington on Wednesday.

By the bus stop…

I spotted these beautiful roses a bee was enjoying them too.

Sandwich time

It has been a while since I have have posted great sandwiches, but here are two from this week – the amazing Reuben at Pickle & Pie and a simple egg and dill pickle from Dough bakery, the latter eaten at my desk on Friday.

Simple things

  • Seeing history in the making on Tuesday.
  • Finding two new pairs of perfect trainers/sneakers – first shoes I have bought in a year too!
  • Leaving work on Friday with all the tasks I could do, done.
  • Travelling to a new city
  • Feeling the warmth of the sun.
  • Catching up with an old school friend.

Sorry no blog links this week as writing this in my iPad…normal service will be resumed next week.

  1. Perth is fabulous. My brother lives there, and I worked there for a few months, and I visit most years. Hope you can find time to go to Rottnest Island – a favourite of mine. Freemantle and Cottesloe beach also.
