After a very wet weekend last week as well as warmer temperatures, there were a lot of weeds for me to clear away this afternoon. I put on a podcast and just got on with it and it was soon done – it isn’t as if there is a huge area to tackle, but it still seems to take a while. Anyway, thanks to Jim at Garden Ruminations, for hosting Six on Saturday, whose knowledge of all things plants and gardening makes him an ideal host and move on to what can be see at the moment outside.
First up, the lemon verbena that came with us from the old house, to the next place and now here, but it has come to life again this spring.

Still in herb corner, the new mint is also thriving, as is the curry plant. variegated sage and the newest thyme as you can see from the featured image. The other thymes are OK and so is the chocolate mint.

When I went out to hang the laundry this morning, I spotted these two little fungi that popped up over night.

I planted a few nasturtiums the other week and happy to see them popping up and not being attacked by the blackbirds.

Both lavender plants are also doing fine, and still looking pretty.

Finally. some more pictures of the silver bush – convolvulus which is so pretty when it opens up in the sun.

That’s all from me this week. Look forward to seeing all the wonderful gardens that feature in Six on Saturday.

Thanks Anne – I thought the lemon balm was a goner but delighted to see it spring back to life.

You are the herb queen, you seem to do really well with them. How cold can the lemon verbena take?

We do get some frost where we live now, but not a lot, and it never gets below freezing. The lemon verbena was looking so sad two weeks ago and has now come back to life.

So many beautiful plants and herbs, especially your beautiful lavender. A few years ago, I started growing herbs as it is easy gardening fun that anyone can do. Delicious and fragrant, they can be grown in the smallest of spaces. All you need is a pot, some compost and seeds to grow tasty herbs that will add incredible flavour to salads and your home cooking. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

Your herbs are looking really healthy and so nice to see the lemon verbena come back to life. Mine is in a raised bed and almost 2m tall now! It is always slow to spring back to life, but so far so good. The smell is sensational.

I honestly thought the lemon verbena had gone…turn my back and it sprung back to life. Will need to replant it at some point.

Yes it always looks dead and then if you look closer you see tiny buds appearing.

You could have a patch two metres long and you would still have to spend ages weeding. That is life.

Your herbs look good and I love the convolvulus. I have grown this but for me it seems to suffer from sudden death syndrome, I suspect it is not very frost-proof.

We do get a little frost here but not much.
