To be honest, not a lot new has been happening out in our little garden as our efforts and energies have been focussed on sorting out indoors, but as it was a lovely day today, and we are off to the garden centre tomorrow, I spent a bit of time outside doing a spot of weeding and checking on how things were getting on. Thanks to Jim at Garden Ruminations, for hosting Six on Saturday, whose knowledge of all things plants and gardening makes him an ideal host and move on to what can be see at the moment outside.
The nights are fair drawing in as they say. Our clocks go back tonight. moving us well and truely into the cooler part of the year, though you wouldn’t know it from our little patch today, with the washing drying in no time and it almost being too hot to sit outside for long.
The tarragon is still doing fine…
…and so is the sage…
…and the rosemary…
…and thyme…which I will be moving from its pot soon to a more permanent place.
Finally, snapped this morning, the echeveria, looking bright and cheerful.

I can smell all the lovely scents from your herbs all the way to Sweden 🙂 I’ve always enjoyed having herbs, mostly in pots, since I can take the pots inside when the cold season arrives. This year I’m doing something different, I’ve read a lot about using herbs as pest remedies for other crops and I am going to try to incorporate them to my vegetable garden (even though that means that perennials will be grown as annuals.)

The herbs try so much harder at that time of year. Sometimes my sage and tarragon winter over, the tarragon being the more tender.

It’ll be interesting to see how the tarragon fairs this year. The new place gets a lot of sun, and even at this time of the year it gets quite hot out there.

I hope you’re enjoying your new home and have settled in well. That echeveria is looking good, and it’s good to know your herbs are all doing well. Love that blue sky!! Everyone in the UK could do with some of that right now. 😁

The herbs are always a good choice. We do a lot of cooking and incorporating fresh herbs is a game changer.

The potted herbs look healthy and yummy. That reminds me: I’ve done that before, but I should pot up some herbs again. They’re fun to grow and great for grabbing for cooking needs. That’s a beautiful Echeveria, too.

Our taragon ran amok. We just planted 1 small plant and it ended up as a HUGE bush and took over everywhere. That was about 10+ years ago and the darn thing is still growing (yep, tried to pull it out but it never worked – keep it in a pot and it should last forever hahaha!). The funny thing is we were trying to build an “herb” garden and didn’t realize that there are very few recipes that actually use this herb?! Oh well, still willing to try new things. Good luck with yours.
