If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would say how nice it was to catch up again. We agree our routines are almost back to normal post the summer break.

If we were having coffee…we of course would be drinking Earl Grey blue flower tea from t leaf T and this time finishing of the plum crumble cake, which we agree is a good combination.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about holidays, about how much we enjoyed the short break to New Caledonia, and how we still have not finished the unpacking in the garage. You say your holiday sounds great and the garage can wait (posts here and here).

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea you ask if I pick a word of the year. I say yes, and it is courage. You say gosh that sounds dramatic and I say well, not really…the courage to sign up for French classes, the courage to eat beetroot….and you laugh. I say well, the beetroot thing is no joke, but I have found that a raw beetroot and carrot salad with lots of seasoning was at least edible, and you laugh again.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about the books we have read recently, and what we have been watching. I say we really enjoyed the Swedish crime drama Blackwater (seen on TVNZ+), and are looking forward to the next episode of Criminal Record. You say they both sound good.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would of course ask you to stay for dinner. There is some lovely looking asparagus and chicken. You say oh yes please! There is some good red wine and peaches to follow.

  1. I am so sorry I couldn’t make it to tea (STILL waiting for the pesky courier!) for I really enjoy Earl Grey blue flower tea, the plum crumble looks mouthwatering, I love eating beetroot, and a dinner of chicken and asparagus with good red wine and luscious looking peaches to follow sounds like a perfect combination 🙂

  2. Yummy! Asparagus and chicken are two of my favs… and I do not eat beet root either unless it is served in very small quantities with other flavors mixed in.

  3. Hi Barbara, I enjoy Earl Grey tea and have had French Early Grey but I would enjoy trying Earl Grey blue flower tea and of course a slice of plum crumble cake. I love your WOTY, Courage and yes it can apply to everyday things as well as more dramatic ideas. Thanks so much for joining us each month for #WBOYC? I always enjoy having a cuppa with you. xx

    1. The Earl Grey blue flower is also very pretty to look at. Thank you for liking my WOTY – as you say it doesn’t have to be dramatic. #WBOYC is a fun way to round up the month. Thanks for hosting!

  4. Oh I think I’d like Earl Grey blue flower tea Barbara! Beetroot done right is quite yummy but obviously you’re not a fan – it’s been mentioned once or twice :). Thanks to you I’m looking at a trip to New Caledonia/Noumea sometime this year for my husband and I – your posts resonated with me and I thought it’s about time – like 46years!!
