It’s been a busy week what with one thing and another, so it was lovely to head out this evening for dinner at one of our regular haunts, Field & Green. Actually, we hadn’t been there since August, but it is one of our favourite places to go in the city.
The menu has changed from a ‘prix fixe’ to a sharing menu, following their recent offerings on the Wellington on a Plate food festival. We started with the avocado dip with chilli crackers, which was excellent.

We also ordered the duck salad with sour cherries and walnut which was also tasty, with a good combination or fat, sour, salt and sweet. The spiced lamb with pickled cucumber and baba ghanoush was also first class, and Field & Green’s always excellent polenta chips with harissa fries made for a perfect combination.
With our espresso, we enjoyed the lightest shortbread I had ever had the joy of eating. All in all, a great Thursday evening treat.

They have changed the menu a bit, but the food is still good.

Light shortbread is a real treat. The other food looked quite good too.
