Almost….pictures form a walk in the Botanic Gardens on Tuesday, starting with this stunning acer.
Puriri tree planted in 1917 by the then mayor of the city, Sir John Luke…and the bench that surrounds the tree.
Grasses in the meadow, beehives by the gingko and one of the seven Hidden Gardens. This one is called Serenity in the City designed by gardener Callum Skene, and inspired by traditional Japanese gardens.
You can find Thistles and Kiwis on Facebook, and also on Instagram @thistlesandkiwis. As for Twitter….am totally inactive these days. If you want to get in touch, email me on thistlesandkiwis@gmail.com
These pictures whisper ‘serenity’ to me 🙂

It was a lovely walk after sitting in front of a screen all day……it was serene and just perfect.
