My grand plans for getting things done outside this afternoon have been put on hold – it is raining and a little bit windy, though not cold. It is not an afternoon to be outside, more time to be indoors with tea and a good book. Apologies for a brief post and lots of pictures of raindrops! Thanks once again to The Propagator for allowing us to share what is going on in our gardens. Check out the participant guide if you want to join in.
First up, another delivery, this time of some dahlia tubers and eucomis tiny pink coral. You can see why I am itching to get out into the garden! Fingers crossed for later on in the week.
At number two, the foxglove, slowly opening up. The bees love them, so quite happy to always have a rogue one at the side of the house.
The herbs are enjoying the warmer weather, and no doubt the showers too. There are some little red flowers appearing on the pineapple sage, and the lemon balm, lemon verbena and chocolate mint are all looking good, even in the rain.
At number four, some new signs of life on the mahonia. I know not everyone is keen on this plant, but they really thrive in the spot at the side of the house.
Next, more pictures of raindrops….this time on the curry plant and tecomanthe speciosa. The curry plants are both in need of repotting, again something that will have to wait. I need a week off from work to get everything done. And of course good weather and an empty social diary at the weekend.
To end, back to indoors again, here are two of my cacti, one which still has bright, pink flowers, much needed on this grey day.

A nice collection for such a dreary day where you are. It’s been awful here with rain and wind, with much the same to come. Not much gardening here sadly.

What a beautiful cactus. I am going to grow a curry leaf plant this year, I don’t think the curry plant has any culinary uses does it?

No I don’t think so. I believe it is quite bitter, though it really does smell like curry!

This eucomis is promising! Very nice choice of color .
Whale-shaped flowers are here again! (Yes, foxgloves have always made me think of whales …😂 )

What is “mahonia”? It looks like a succulent but I am not familiar with this plant. I just love the way it looks but I would have to be careful of mistaking it here in Colorado for a weed. – LOL

The raindrops add to your photos! The camellia bud may be my favorite photo today. Soon you’ll be outdoors again and everything will be refreshed.

I do love the colour of the Eucomis! Mine are just the usual standard colour. The pink is refreshing! You have a lovely selection of herbs. Seeing your pineapple sage reminded me that I have one in a neglected part of the front garden; I had better take a look and see how it is doing. It probably needs to be cut back! The curry bush is very photogenic with raindrops. I think the tiny hairs trap them and hold them in place, much to the delight of photographers!
