If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would sit down to a cup of orange pekoe tea from tleafTea with a slice of spiced apple cake (with a dollop of yoghurt) from Arobake. We agree that both tea and cake are excellent and also go well together.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about our health and well-being, about the importance of looking after ourselves. We would talk about the benefits of fresh air, about my love of Pilates and yours of yoga, about the importance or switching off and days of rest and relaxation. We would avoid all mention of Covid-19.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would admire the beautiful poppies I bought, their colours and their shape. We agree that they have to be in our top 10 favourite flowers.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about the weather. About sunny days, rain, cold mornings and the general changeable weather. We would talk about the mild winter, and how we hope for a good summer to come, and how Charlie loves to play in the sun.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would of course talk about the magnolia here in our garden and in the Botanic Gardens. We would talk about how beautiful the gardens are looking just now, and how there will be more to come in the days and weeks ahead.

If we were having coffee…oh wait a moment…it is that time already…of course you agree to stay for dinner…and we carry on chatting about this and that.
