If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would, of course, be doing so from our own homes and using Zoom. We would each have a hot cross bun, as after all it is that time of year.

Time for a hot cross bun

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you that I spent the morning clearing out one small area of the box room, filling one rubbish bag full of stuff, including a large bundle of old pens that had all dried up. I say I found two things I was looking for, but failed to find a third. You laugh and say how many more days do you need to clear out the rest of the box room? I say I don’t know but maybe by the end of lockdown it might be done.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about podcasts we had listened to. I tell you about the last episode of This American Life on fiascos which had me laughing out loud, and am now following The Eleventh about Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam and his dismissal on 11th November 1975.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about getting bread deliveries such as the one I got from Arobake this week, and how lovely it is to have good, fresh bread. You say you’ve been making your own, and I say well, I should too since it is almost compulsory to post a picture of homemade lockdown bread on Instagram, and you laugh.

Bread for breakfast

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about our cats, and about how they seem to really like having us about all day, and seem to be living in their own small bubbles too. We each go and find our furry friends and make them say hello to each other, but neither one is really interested.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about our walks, and how we are getting slightly bored with the same routes every day, but we try to look out for different things each day.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we promise ourselves that we will go out for dinner as soon as this is all over. In the meanwhile, stay in your bubble! Kia kaha!
