If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…or most likely a glass of wine…we would be sitting outside listening to the cicadas after work.
If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…or most likely a glass of wine… we would not talk about work, but instead of films we had seen (you also enjoyed Emma), of places we had been and of places we are going, of holiday plans and the forthcoming International Festival. I tell you I had just listened to a podcast featuring an interview with my former Pilates teacher, which we agree was so nice.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…or most likely a glass of wine… would show you all the chillies on my plants indoors. They are yet to ripen but looking good so far. We talk about our gardens, about successes and failures, and, of course, about the weather.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…or most likely a glass of wine…we would talk about books, how disappointed we were that Scarlett Thomas is no longer coming to New Zealand, about the piles of unread books and how we would love more time to read them.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…or most likely a glass of wine…you agree to stay for dinner…just some simple pasta….and so we settle down to an enjoyable evening.

My goodness, we are peas in a pod. You want to talk about all the things I love talking about. If I were over for tea, wine, or coffee, I would also admire that beautiful door, and the red, red window sill with its assortment of plants.

It was actually there when we moved in and I love it. It will soon need repainting and am not sure we will find the right colour again.

If it the paint color your trying to match you can scrape off a quarter size, and a hardware store or paint store may be able to match it. If it is the stained glass that will need replacing I have no suggestion beside Google.

Good idea re the paint. A good paint shop should be able to mix a match – or near match. The glass I wouldn’t touch.
