For the final Wordless Wednesday post from New Caledonia, we head over to Amédée Isle, a 40 minute boat trip from Noumea. The island is famous for its lighthouse, which was built in France and transported to New Caledonia, where it was first put into operation in 1865. We went over to the island with an organised trip (link below) that included lunch and opportunities for activities such as snorkelling, though we preferred to lie on the beach.

Beautiful place, but that sea snake gave me the shivers.

It is beautiful. The snakes were quite fascinating, swimming in the sea, then coming on land to rest, and crawl up the trees. They were also quite beautiful!
