If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea, we would talk about spring, about the changeable weather, about the joys of seeing ducklings and an abundance of flowers. We would talk about the wild flower meadow in the Botanic Garden, and while we applaud and love the idea, think at the moment it looks a little bit messy.  I say I hope it won’t detract from the daffodils we see each year in that part of the gardens, and you say of course it won’t.  I then read out to you something I read that said that Wellington Botanic Gardens was mentioned in an episode of The Simpsons, which featured the Flight of the Conchords in 2010.  We laugh and cannot think of anything else to say.

If we were having a coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you I bought Magnus Nilsson’s The Nordic Baking Book.  We would discuss how it is more of a reference book than a cook book, but how beautiful it was and how perfect it would be to curl up on a sofa with a big pot of tea and a pile of homemade biscuits and sit and read about Nordic baking.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea I would show you this link to Floral Laced Ravioli... (from Spoon Fork Bacon) and we agree how we would love to have the time to do things like this, but never do.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about daily life, about forthcoming events, about the ballet I saw last week, about all the fireworks on Guy Fawkes Night.  We would share favourite podcasts, my current favourites being Desert Island Dishes, 99% Invisible and Sustain Daily Podcast which I listen to so I don’t forget the little Danish I learned.

If we were having coffee…or even…a coffee with some strawberries…because we can…

Why not?
