This week’s small pleasures #110

It’s been a couple of weeks since I did a small pleasures post, so thought today I would resurrect the theme.  There have been a few moments of really tiny things that bring a smile…the cry of kākā while walking to work, Charlie snuggling up to us, a good book, laughing with friends.  Here are a few other small pleasures.

World of Wearable Art

This was my fifth trip to see the fantastic World of Wearable Art, and the 30th anniversary show.  I’ve done blog posts about it before, so search through if you are interested.  It is hard to describe what it is…a cross between a design competition and theatrical experience (dance, music, circus) I guess is best.  If you are planning a trip to Wellington, it is worth thinking about timing it to coincide with WOW.

Sunday breakfast: sourdough bread, topped with Cranky Goat Pelorus Pearl goat cheese, tomato and fresh basil leaves.

I am so happy I discovered the Six on a Saturday blog post concept, which revolves around all things to do with gardening and gardens.  Not only has it got me out planting and looking more closely at what is growing around us, it is such a lovely community too.

Salad time

Adding in home grown micro greens (red kale) to an accompanying salad on a Monday – what is not to like?

Thanks to Mani over at A New Life Wandering for the original idea.

  1. What a nice post- so positive. I know about WoW but have never been able to go. It looks like a lot of fun!

  2. Lovely idea to do a post on small pleasures. This meme is new to me. It is the little things that add up to a happy, contented life.

    1. It’s a really good post to write if you think it has been a horrible week..makes you realise there are always small pleasures to be had. And when you have had a good week…even better.
