It’s Friday evening, the skies are grey, it is cold outside, but inside there is the lovely smell of cooking chicken and the prospect of the weekend ahead. Actually, if truth be told, it has been a very mixed week, as I have been feeling really lousy since Tuesday. I was up in Auckland on Wednesday, and came home knowing I was sick. I took Thursday and Friday off work, and slept and slept. Whatever this bug is, it has drained me totally, and given me a sore throat. I can’t tell you the number of mugs of fresh ginger, lemon juice (thank goodness for all those lemons!) with a dash of honey I have had.
Being at home, I raided the fridge to make some broccoli and spinach soup to use up some veggies and inject some vitamins. It was good, but would have been better with some blue cheese melted in.

The weather has been ghastly all week, but the flowers in the Botanic Gardens are still looking gorgeous and brighten up our days, and the ducks don’t seem to care.

Ah well…shopping list made for tomorrow, menus planned and lots to read and watch over the next two days.
