This week’s small pleasures #72

A week that began with the Labour Day holiday on Monday, and ended with a weekend in Napier, is no bad week. Well, there was work in between…but anyway, here are some of this week’s small pleasures.

A Monday holiday…

…spent reading and relaxing. What’s not to like about that?

Weekend trip…

…to Napier, a favourite place in New Zealand. Rebuilt in Art Deco style after the devastating 1931 earthquake, it’s an interesting place in great part of the country. It was our third weekend trip here in the nearly 5 years we have lived here. Search the blog for old posts if you are so inclined!

Food……and drink. From an excellent curry at Indigo on Friday evening, to Saturday breakfast at the hotel, to lunch at Ujazi cafe, not to forget dinner at Trattoria alla Toscana, (which started with prosecco with half a strawberry floating on the top) and a special treat of dinner at Mission Estate.

Spring…

…is in the air!  The bees are active and the flowers are out…what is not to enjoy?

Long evenings…

…and staring at the moon…
