We put up the Christmas tree on Wednesday, pulling out old favourite decorations like the French little drummer boy I was given when I was 11 years old. We have too many decorations for our small artificial tree, having had real ones of a much larger size when we lived in Copenhagen. Still, the tree must go up, and there it stands in the window for all to see.
Also on display is the fairy that used to grace the top of the tree when I was a child. I actually believed she was real when I was really small. She has weathered the test of time, and this year sits between a round fluffy robin, whose age is also indeterminate, and another new addition, the fat little robin on the right.
So there we have it…only one more day of Blogmas 2017 to go……
