If we were having coffee…

If we were having coffee…no wait, the sun is well over the yard arm, let’s have a glass of wine.

If we were sitting drinking a glass of wine…we would talk about my forthcoming trip, and how much I was looking to getting away, to seeing Karl and to not being at work.

If we were sitting drinking a glass of wine…we would talk about our futures, and wonder what they hold.

If we were sitting drinking a glass of wine…we would talk about Charlie, how happy he is when I come home from work, sitting in the window watching for me and rolling about when I enter the house.  I would tell you how he has made new friends with some neighbours, sleeping on their son’s bed!  We would also remark that he is quite a special cat, who walks into his cat basket with no issues, and purrs all the way to the cattery at the vets.

If we were having a glass of wine…we would talk about podcasts, You Tube and Instagram and how much time we can waste on the latter two, while at least you can wash dishes and clean the bathroom while listening to the first.

If we were having a glass of wine…we would talk about the forthcoming general election in New Zealand, the earthquakes in Mexico and what is going to happen in Catalonia.  I would ask if you felt the 5.1 quake here on Wednesday, and you said yes, but it was over before you thought to duck, dive, hold.

If we were having a glass of wine…I would invite you to stay for dinner.
