Well, here we are, just over a week to go to Christmas! The sun is out, and we came home from work and sat outside with a cold drink (and maybe a little bowl of crisps…). Anyway, it’s time to try to pick some seasonal music. What an impossible task that proved to be….should I include ‘classics’ like Wham or Slade? (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, click on the links…..). Should I only pick carols? Well, as ever, it is a total mix. So here we go….
Hark the Herald Angels Sing – possibly my favourite Christmas carol. Just have to sing along (and do the descant).
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – my favorite Christmas album is from She and Him and I love their version of this classic song. Perfect combination.
Lulajze Jezuniu – the classic Polish carol sung by the wonderful Anna Maria Jopek with Pat Metheny.
The Christmas Song – actually, just an excuse to post something by Ella Fitzgerald!
Santa Baby with the late, great Eartha Kitt. A slightly different version of this was recently performed my MP Marama Fox in the New Zealand Parliament.
Just D with Jul igen from the 1990s. It’s not exactly full of Christmas cheer despite the jolly tune!
So, there you have it. Time to relax and enjoy the weekend.
