A day later than usual – it is Tuesday evening here in New Zealand as I type – but here are this week’s small pleasures, and, as usual, thanks to A New Life Wandering for the idea.
1 The colour of vegetables
From purple and green cauliflowers to yellow chard, this autumn is full of colour. I turned an orange cauliflower into a fragrant soup, ate some red chard tossed in garlic and have some deep green spinach to eat later in the week.
Yellow chard
2 Blowing away the cobwebs
Getting down to a beach, smelling the sea air and getting blown away. A good way to clear the head and switch off from everything around you, even if just for a brief time on a Sunday afternoon.
3 R&R
A massage on Monday, my usual Pilates classes and a bonus offer from a favourite cosmetic company. Small pleasures indeed, but ones that bring a smile.
4 Charlie the cat
He’s sometimes grumpy, always bossy, demands too many treats and loves to sleep a lot. We now have joint custody and he has become so much part of our lives.
5 Flowers blooming in the autumn.
There is always something in bloom, something to brighten up the walk up 100 steps to where we live, something to admire as we leave the house.

These are my kind of pleasures! Beautiful fresh produce, nature, exercise, free stuff, cats.. great list! Have a nice rest of the week!
