Christmas is definitely the start of summer here. Many people stopped work for the festive period on Friday, with the holiday period now beginning to get in full swing. Yesterday was midsummer, so while all my friends and family in the northern hemisphere were having their shortest day, we were having our longest. I spent the afternoon decorating our wee tree wearing shorts. This time next year, I won’t think about it I am sure, but at the moment it is still a novelty!

Stars are the theme this year – more appropriate than snowflakes!
More stars
Too many decorations so filled a bowl with the leftovers
The weather forecasts here change almost hourly. It is quite common to be reading what is supposed to be happening with quite the opposite going on outside. Anyway, fingers are crossed for sunshine and not rain, though it does look like we are going to have a few showers. Still, it won’t be a white Christmas at least!
