I am sitting on the bean bag in the upstairs living room listening to Rachmaninov and drinking rooibos tea with ginger and lemon, quite a different kind of Friday evening to usual. Actually, we have just got home from the cinema where we saw a really interesting and well-acted drama about Hannah Arendt, starring Barbara Sukowa in the lead role and Janet McTear as a wonderful Mary McCarthy. This was shown as part of the Film Festival that has been on here the past two weeks which has had some great films, though we only managed two.
It has been a busy work week so not much time for anything else. The cat symbolises what I feel like doing at the moment!

Probably the most exciting thing this week was the discovery in the supermarket of wine from the Mountford vineyard. My mother’s name was Mountford and so it was great to find some ‘family’ wine so to speak.
Mountford Pinot Noir
…and very good it was too…
We are soon off to the airport to pick up friends from Auckland who are coming down for the Beervana beer festival tomorrow – full report on that in the next blog.
