6 Things

I thought I would do an occasional series ‘6 things’ as part of the blog and so for my first, I present ‘6 things about Wellington’.

1. It is hilly

2. It is windy

Wellington City Council even publishes a map showing Wind Zones so you can see the most windy areas

3. It is wet

Average rainfall is average annual rainfall is 1249 mm (according to Wikipedia at least!).  For comparison, Edinburgh has 704mm and Copenhagen 613 (also from Wikipedia).

And so because of these three things I now own

4. It is marketed as ‘the coolest little capital in the world’

5. The city has an eclectic mix of buildings

6. The city has more coffee shops per head than New York City

And my new favourite drink is lemon, honey and ginger available in many cafes here.
