If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would naturally be enjoying a cup of Earl Grey tea and along side that, cardamom scones. You say do you have the recipe as they are really good and quite unusual? And I say yes you can find it here and that they have been featured on this blog before.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…I would tell you I have done a bit of shopping recently: some more of these beautiful candles from Vessel to see us through some more winter days, another little bowl from Galit Maxwell, that is so gorgeous to hold and fill with fruit and yoghurt at breakfast, some more of my favourite teas from tLeafT (orange oolong and monk’s blend). I also found this little jug cover, which reminded me of one my mother used to have. You smile and say you remember one like that too.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about the early signs of daffodils in the Botanic Gardens and also in the garden. We agree we are amazed every year.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea…we would talk about the weather, about how it has been the warmest autumn on record and how it is still not cold. You say the forecast looks like it will be getting colder soon.

If we were having a coffee…or even a cup of tea…I say why don’t you stay for dinner? There will be some pea soup and some good bread…you, of course, say yes as usual.

Pop over and have a coffee or a cup of tea with Natalie who hosts the weekly coffee share.

  1. I a having a cup of coffee, but wish I had one of those scones to go with it. I will definitely try that recipe – looks and sounds delicious! Beautiful bowls too. The Nature open noodle bowl looks a bit like one I made when I was trying my hand at pottery. Probably nicer than mine, but I love the shape and mine has a pale blue celadon glaze on the outside, white inside with splatters of blue. I call it my big salad bowl, but it also works for yogurt and fruit, or even oatmeal, though it is a bit large for that.

  2. If your afternoon was as delightfully sunny as ours has been, having tea and scones with you would have been most pleasant. I have just come in from enjoying Earl Grey tea whilst watching the birds in my garden.

  3. If I had money, I would winter in NZ and then winter again in Los Angeles, where I live. It’s almost summer here, my least favorite season where it’s too darn hot to be outside.
