Wordless Wednesday: Noumea

For this week’s Wordless Wednesday, we are in Noumea. We took the bus to the city and visited the museum we didn’t visit the last time we were here, the Musée de la Ville de Nouméa. The other museum, Museum of New Caledonia, is well worth a visit too (see here for very old post). On Saturday we returned to the city to visit the market, wandering around stalls with all sorts of sea creatures, fruits, vegetables and crafts. So here we go…

Inside the museum, which tells the story of the city
Looking out of the museum
Outside the museum
Bright blue shutters, bright pink flowers in the city
Rougets de nuit or red mullet
More fish, including salmon trout
Crabs for sale
I’m not sure what these are…probably delicious with garlic butter? Or maybe not…
The vegetable part of the market
Avocados – missing these back home at the moment
Taro and other roots
